the series of tubes has been rerouted

I don't have the series of tubes at my house right now. I don't know when I will again. This means less blog. It also means that my primary source of reference material is gone-o. I have many questions (e.g. What to do w/ leftover salad? hmm) that I like to pose to the tubes on the fly. I rarely remember the questions when I get to work, and besides, I'm supposed to work at work. So no fly answers to my fly questions (e.g. What is a molly bolt?). I just have to hope that someone in the neighborhood decides to give me some more free tubes for xmas, I guess.

inching over

Hey, does anybody know how I can get the layout here not to have that extra blank space over there on the left (or at least not so much of it)? I'm still using the "classic" template because the newer ones are no good (e.g., the polka.dot.dot.dot part gets cut off). I've tried fooling around with it and successfully made the "main" section bigger today, but any bigger and the left sidebar disappears for some reason.

gauging interest

Hey, if I were to set up a mailing list so that you the readers would get an email when there's a new post up, would you want it? There would only be one email/day, regardless of the number of posts, except if there were no new posts that day, in which case no email either. And of course if you wanted an email every time there was a new post, you could have that too (could be multiple emails/day, on days like these--but usually just one or zero). Bert once said he wanted such notification. Does anybody else? Please let me know if you would like to be added to the mailing list either in the comments or by emailing me.
